the social
layer for
nightlife

Houston's nightlife generates billions annually. Nobody has built the social infrastructure for it — until now. We're live in beta.

The Problem

nightlife is
invisible online

Houston has thousands of venues, hundreds of weekly events, and millions of people going out. But there's no social layer — no way to know what's actually popping tonight, who's performing, or whether a venue is worth the trip.

Instagram shows curated highlights. Eventbrite shows tickets. Posh shows flyers. None of them show you the real-time social experience of being there.

Creators — DJs, photographers, promoters, hosts — have no platform built for their world. They're scattered across Instagram, TikTok, and group chats with no centralized way to build a following, get booked, or prove their value.

Venues have no way to see who their customers are, which creators drive attendance, or what's working.

LocalPulse is the social layer that connects Houston's nightlife community — vibers, creators, and venues — through a single platform with real-time check-ins, ratings, live streaming, rankings, and city-wide heat mapping.

Product

what we built

📍 Real-time Check-ins

GPS-verified check-ins at 800+ Houston venues. Know who's physically at an event, not just who RSVPd. Post, rate, or go live right after arriving.

🗺️ Places Heat Map

Apple Maps-style full-screen map of Houston. Color-coded venue pins show live activity in real time. Red = packed. Orange = warming up.

🎥 Go Live

Anyone can watch live streams. Creators and Venue Owners stream directly from events. Viewers join, comment, and feel the energy in real time.

🏆 Rankings

Daily, weekly, and monthly leaderboards for Vibers, Creators, Venues, Events, and Neighborhoods. Gamified engagement drives retention.

🏛️ Venue Tools

Venues claim their profile, manage events, broadcast to followers, and see real analytics on who's coming through their doors.

🎤 Creator Marketplace

DJs, photographers, hosts can be discovered, tagged in lineups, and booked directly through the app. Guest tagging with referral invites drives growth.

Growth Mechanics

built-in
virality

Certified Viber Program — users who invite 20 friends who create accounts earn a verified checkmark. This creates a word-of-mouth growth loop where every new user was invited by someone who had skin in the game.

Guest Creator Tagging — when a creator tags a collaborator who isn't on LocalPulse yet, an invite fires automatically. "You've been tagged in an event" is a high-conversion entry point.

GoLive FOMO — when someone goes live at a venue, their followers see a red ring on their avatar throughout the app. This drives opens, check-ins, and attendance at active venues.

Rankings gamification — daily/weekly/monthly leaderboards create habitual engagement. Users return to see their rank, check-in more to climb, and share their position.

Why Now

the timing
is right

Post-pandemic nightlife is booming. Houston has one of the fastest-growing nightlife scenes in the country, with a young, diverse population that over-indexes on going out.

TikTok and Instagram have proven that nightlife content drives massive engagement — but neither platform is built for the real-time, location-based social experience that actually happens at events.

The creator economy has reached nightlife. DJs, photographers, and promoters are building real businesses — they need tools built for their world, not repurposed from general social platforms.

We're Houston first — but the architecture is city-agnostic. Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, and Miami are natural expansion targets with the same infrastructure.
